Terms of Service

Last Updated: May 2, 2026

These Terms of Service apply to Robots and Pixels, including our current tools such as Mehxel and RoboDoc, and also to any other current or future apps, tools, features, tutorials, physical projects, kiosks, downloads, experiments, and services we create, operate, offer, test, change, or discontinue, whether or not they are specifically named here.

Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using Robots and Pixels, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the services.

Eligibility

You may use the services only if you can form a binding agreement under applicable law and your use of the services is allowed by applicable law.

What We Offer

Robots and Pixels provides creative, educational, collaborative, and experimental tools and services. These may include, for example:

  • Mehxel, which may allow people to create pixel art, download it, and share or display it online or through physical installations.
  • RoboDoc, which may allow people to create, share, and collaboratively edit text or markdown documents through a URL.
  • Tutorials and Projects, which may provide educational content, guides, and hands-on activities for learning and experimentation.
  • Other current or future apps, tools, tutorials, projects, hardware-related experiences, downloads, kiosks, experiments, and services.

Acceptable Use

You may not use the services to do anything illegal, harmful, fraudulent, abusive, infringing, or unethical. This includes, without limitation, using the services to:

  • violate any law, regulation, or third-party right;
  • create, upload, share, store, transmit, or display unlawful, threatening, hateful, harassing, abusive, sexually exploitative, or otherwise harmful content;
  • infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other intellectual property or proprietary rights;
  • upload malware, malicious code, or anything intended to disrupt, damage, probe, or gain unauthorized access to systems, devices, accounts, or data;
  • interfere with the services or other users;
  • use the services for spam, scams, deception, or other abusive conduct;
  • use any Robots and Pixels project, tutorial, code, design, or hardware-related information in a dangerous, unlawful, reckless, or destructive way.

User Content

You retain ownership of content you create or submit, subject to the limited rights you give us to operate, host, store, display, share, moderate, and improve the services.

If you submit content to a public or shared area, or through a kiosk or installation configured for public display or sharing, you understand that others may be able to view, copy, download, or share that content depending on the service’s features.

Mehxel and Public Sharing

Mehxel and similar tools may allow artwork to be displayed publicly, shared online, downloaded, or shown in galleries, demos, kiosks, installations, or event recaps related to the service. Do not submit anything you do not want shared or displayed in those contexts.

RoboDoc and Link-Based Access

RoboDoc does not require accounts. Access may be controlled by possession of a URL alone. Anyone who has the URL may be able to access, view, edit, copy, export, share, or delete the document. We may not be able to identify, authenticate, restrict, or distinguish between people who use that URL.

You are solely responsible for deciding whom to share a URL with and for understanding that a shared URL may be forwarded or accessed by unintended recipients. Do not use RoboDoc for confidential, sensitive, regulated, or irreplaceable information.

Availability, Changes, and Discontinuation

All services, tools, apps, features, projects, tutorials, and related materials are offered on an as is and as available basis. We do not guarantee that anything will be available at any particular time, for any particular duration, or at all.

We may add, remove, modify, suspend, disable, discontinue, or permanently shut down any part of the services, with or without notice, at any time, for any reason or for no stated reason.

We do not guarantee uptime, availability, continued operation, continued compatibility, continued support, error-free operation, security, storage, preservation, or recoverability of any content or feature.

Retention, Deletion, and No Backups

We do not promise backups, archival storage, or recovery of deleted or lost content unless we expressly say otherwise for a specific service.

Some content may be stored only temporarily. We may delete inactive or stored content with or without notice.

For example, RoboDoc documents may be permanently deleted after 30 days of inactivity.

You are solely responsible for keeping your own backups and copies of anything important.

Physical Projects, Tutorials, and Safety

Robots and Pixels may offer tutorials, guides, code, project ideas, design files, hardware-related information, educational materials, or other content involving electronics, tools, motors, robotics, fabrication, or physical builds. All such materials are provided for general informational and educational purposes only.

You are solely responsible for how you use, build, modify, interpret, or apply any project, tutorial, code, design, or other material. You assume all risks related to assembly, installation, operation, maintenance, storage, transport, or use.

You must use appropriate judgment, supervision, safeguards, protective equipment, manufacturer instructions, and legal compliance. Do not attempt anything beyond your skill level or use any material in a way that could injure people, damage property, or violate the law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for injuries, death, fires, shocks, property damage, equipment damage, data loss, misuse, or other harm arising from or related to any physical project, tutorial, code, instructions, or related material.

Copyright Complaints

We respect intellectual property rights and expect users to do the same. If you believe content on the services infringes your copyright, please send a notice to hello@robotsandpixles.com with enough information for us to identify the copyrighted work claimed to be infringed, the allegedly infringing material, your contact information, and a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is unauthorized.

We may remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material and may suspend or terminate repeat offenders where appropriate.

Termination and Removal

We may remove content, restrict access, or stop providing services to anyone, with or without notice, at any time, especially if we believe there is unlawful activity, harmful activity, infringement, abuse, risk, or misuse.

This includes, without limitation, no warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, safety, accuracy, completeness, usefulness, reliability, availability, uptime, compatibility, usability, performance, quality, suitability, or results.

We do not warrant that anything will work for your needs, remain available, be safe to build or use, be free from defects, be error-free, or avoid damage, loss, or interruption. You use the services entirely at your own risk.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Robots and Pixels and its owners, operators, affiliates, licensors, service providers, and representatives will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, content, profits, revenue, goodwill, business interruption, personal injury, death, property damage, or equipment damage arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the services.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Robots and Pixels and its owners, operators, affiliates, licensors, service providers, and representatives from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses arising from or related to your use of the services, your content, your projects, or your violation of these terms or any law or third-party right.
